Homestay Accommodation

Homestay accommodation is the perfect option for students who want to practise their English and at the same time experience living in an English speak environment with one of our friendly homestay hosts and/or family.  We always try to match each student with the perfect homestay host. So, whether you are vegetarian, like children or pets, just let us know and we will do our best to make sure you get the best possible accommodation. The majority of our homestay options are located within 10-30 minutes' travelling time by bus or Metro from the school.

Homestay

Living with a homestay host will give you a good introduction to life in the UK.  A host is not always two parents and

children; many hosts are couples or single people. Most homestay accommodation is within 30 minutes' travelling time of the school.

International House English language school homestay team can arrange:

  • Half-board – breakfast and dinner every day plus a light lunch at weekends

  • Full-board – breakfast, lunch and dinner every day (usually packed lunch on weekdays, light lunch at weekends)

  • Self-catering – you use the homestay kitchen and buy and prepare your own meals

Students have single or double (if requested) study/bedrooms and they never share homestay accommodation with students of the same nationality or language unless this has been requested.

When you book, please let us know of any preferences you may have regarding smoking, diet, and whether you mind having children and/or pets in the residence. Please note that if you require a special diet, such as Halal, vegan or gluten-free food, there is an additional £20 per week fee. A non-pork or vegetarian diet is provided at no extra cost.

Homestay hosts will provide at least one clean bath towel per week for your personal use during your stay.

NB: Accommodation normally runs from Sunday to Sunday (final night Saturday night).  Extra nights can be booked subject to availability - £40 Half-board per night (£45 for full-board).

Homestay accommodation is regularly checked by our accommodation officers. We ensure that we meet the standard required by:

  • The British Council

  • International House World Organisation and EAQUALS.
