If you need to take an exam to prove your level of English to a University or employer, then this course is ideal for you. The Cambridge tests are recognised by over 20,000 organisations in over 130 countries and is a good alternative to IELTS*.
Option 1: Intensive Cambridge Preparation Course – 25 lessons per week.
This includes 10 lessons per week of class-based examination preparation and 15 lessons per week of General English classes to improve accuracy and fluency. 5 of the 15 hours of General English will be lessons in PSP (Personal Study Programme), which focuses on practising exam skills.
Option 2: Standard Cambridge Preparation Course – 15 lessons per week
This includes 10 lessons per week of class-based examination preparation, and 5 lessons per week of PSP (Personal Study Programme), that will focus on practising exam skills.
Each lesson is 55 minutes long, so there are scheduled break periods that take this into account. Our class size is 12 students maximum (8 students on average).
Availability and Cambridge Exam Dates (2019):
16th September – 6th December (12 weeks)
B2: Exam on 3rd December*
C1: Exam on 4th December*
C2: Exam on 5th December*
*These dates are for the Cambridge English course written examination (reading and use of English, writing and listening) paper. The date of your speaking exam will be confirmed closer to the time, but it will take place during the ten days before the written papers.
Please note: booking an examination course does not book the actual examination itself. There is an additional examination fee of £150.
Cambridge B2 First:
This level was formerly known as the First Certificate in English (FCE). The Cambridge B2 First examination gives you the skills to live, work and study in the North East of England, in the vibrant student city of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Because the Cambridge B2 First is a General English exam, this course is a great option if you are looking for an intensive English language course that will systematically cover key B2 level vocabulary, grammar and language skills. You need take a pre-test and obtain a B2 level of English to take this course.
Cambridge C1 Advanced:
This is an intensive Cambridge Exam preparation course designed to help you to prepare for the Cambridge C1 Advanced exam, formerly known as the Cambridge Advanced English (CAE). It will give you useful CAE exam tips, access to CAE exam past papers and teach you strategies as well as the C1 level vocabulary, grammar and language skills you need to get a good result. You need take a pre-test and obtain a C1 level of English to take this course.
Cambridge C2 Proficiency:
This is an intensive Cambridge Exam preparation course designed to help you to prepare for the Cambridge C2 Proficiency exam, formerly known as the Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE). It will give you useful Cambridge exam tips and strategies as well as the C2 level vocabulary, grammar and language skills practice you need to get a good result. You will need take a pre-test and obtain a C2 level of English to take this course.
